People use movement for all kinds of reasons. To unlock and relax a painful low back or a sprained ankle, to retrain the body's metabolism and insulin receptivity. But we also rely on movement for emotional and spiritual support. For example, to find the grounding to exit and heal from a relationship, or to reconnect with one's self and learn to honor rather than hide that part of ourself which is weird or too much. Intuitive powers anyone?
There is nothing in the universe like movement. Your physical body becomes both a healer, and a teacher. Movement immediately asks you to find your self-awareness and practice self-compassion in real-time. Once you're in this embodied space, you can learn to support your body with your loving spirit, you can experience your body as a place of comfort and spaciousness. Movement also find and clears out the blocks that inhibit healing the physical, and the spiritual.
Movement makes sense to most people as the first and most important healer for injuries & chronic pain.
Strength, stability, range of motion and mobility - these are all conferred by movement.
But movement also helps the nervous system to down-regulate, moves and clears out stuck emotions, connects us with our selves, and shows us how to practice self-awareness and compassion in real time.
Movement takes care of us, shows us how to provide space for ourselves, and teaches us how to love ourselves deeply.
